I Got Game

The crowd goes wild. There is yelling, whooping and clapping. People are jumping around and chanting my name. I am a hero. My team mates are all patting me on the back. The coach gives me his subtle smile, a smile only reserved for the most deserving players. I know I will never forget this night for as long as I live.

I see the opposing team. Their heads hung, some with tears in their eyes. Too bad boys. Maybe you’ll get us next time. Tonight, though, it is nothing but us. We dominated this game. I dominated this game. I scored more points than any other player in the history of our school. I am the champ.

I see Cindy, standing there in her cheerleading uniform. She’s coming towards me. Oh no, I always end up looking like a fool when I talk to her.

“Hey, good game. You looked good out there.”

Then she’s gone. I guess I may have good game on the court, but my off court game still needs a little work. Oh well, you can’t be good at everything.
